Þórður – pronounced “thordur”- is with out doubt the most successful trainer and rider of breeding horses in Iceland.

He has been honored on many occasions by various organizations and induviduals for his achievements and is renowned for his professional demeanour. Every year Þórður presents many dozens of breeding horses, last year he rode 58 horses in evaluation shows and  24 of them received 1.prize or 50%. Their average overall score was 7,95 so there is no wonder Þórður is often nicknamed “the King “ among the breeding horse trainers.

Þórður is a very versatile trainer and rider and has been an Icelandic Champion twice in Tolt and his record as a flying-pace rider is incredible. He has won countless prizes in various competitions over the years.

Þórður is now offering riding clinics and especial clinics for riders and those who want to take part in breedinghorse evaluations.

The clinics and seminars will involve:
* Breeding horses and evaluations.
* The key to breeding horse evaluation shows and effective riding.
* Preparation and demonstration of the breeding horses.
* Issues to consider on  training and feeding each horse.
* Grooming and appearance – a very important factor.
* Technique in riding breeding horses in evaluations.

Clinics  will be in the form of lectures, demonstrations with horses and private lessons. A very limited number of participants are in each group so each induvidual gets hand on instruction and full attention from the clinician.
The clinics can also be include a riding clinic for evaluations for intermediate or advanced riders.

Þórður also offers tailor made riding clinics for riders of all skill levels.

This in a unique opportunity to get to learn about the ideology and ethics of one of the best trainers of Icelandic horses and a rider, who has obtained the best results/scores these past years in evaluations and competitions.

All courses held by Þórður will be videotaped by studio 847 and all students can get a  copy from each clinic for their personal use.
